2025 Exhibitors + Climate Action

Sustainability at the ASLA 2025 EXPO

Partnership is key to becoming more sustainable, and we could not do what we do without the support of our exhibitors and partners. Together we can increase the positive climate contributions of the Conference on Landscape Architecture.

We invite you to be active participants in this crucial endeavor. Together, we can make a substantial impact.

What can you do before the conference?

1. Take the Climate Action Pledge. Each exhibiting company that signs on to the commitment and completes the Impact Assessment Survey by September 30 will be recognized in the conference mobile app with an official icon.

2. Complete the Climate Action Impact survey  Our goal is to achieve 100% participation from ASLA Exhibitors, contributing a minimum of three carbon offsets.

3. Make a Positive Climate Contribution

More than 6,000 attendees will travel to New Orleans to engage, network, and learn from each other in a way that can only be achieved through real-life interaction. ASLA is aware of the carbon footprint of these connections and has committed to minimizing the impact.

ASLA has partnered with the National Indian Carbon Coalition to offset greenhouse gas emissions from the ASLA 2025 Conference. The offsets come from the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians’ forest carbon project in Mississippi, which will protect 12 million trees. The initiative supports Indigenous environmental stewardship, enhanced resilience and biodiversity, and a new K-12 school campus.

Exhibitors that would like to offset their emissions at the ASLA 2025 Conference can contribute via this online form.

4. Donate Your Booth Products and Materials to Habitat for Humanity

Do you wish to donate products from your 2025 exhibit booth to help the local community of New Orleans? ASLA is partnering with Habitat for Humanity ReStore to support exhibitor donations.

The ReStore is a home improvement outlet open to the public where guests can shop for quality donated home furnishings, furniture, and building supplies at a fraction of the original cost. All revenue from the retail store supports building, rehabbing, and repairing homes for local families.

If you choose to donate materials, you MUST register your donation in advance.

Guidelines:

Follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth donation process:

    • You must register your donation in advance. Unregistered items will be discarded, and you will be charged for waste left in the booth.

Take a Minute to Review and Prepare

ASLA’s Climate and Biodiversity Action Committee and Corporate Member Committee convened to create Collaborating with Industry Partners on Climate Action and Biodiversity: A Guide to Conversations Among Landscape Architects, Vendors, and Product Manufacturers, which will be  promoted to landscape architects prior to their arrival in New Orleans.

This guide helps landscape architects talk to industry partners about ways to advance collective climate and biodiversity goals.

Many conference attendees will use this tool while in conversation with you and your exhibit booth staff.

We encourage you to share the conversation guide  with your team in advance so they can be prepared for the conversation.

Be knowledgeable about Pack In, Pack Out Policy, NEW this year.

To support ASLA’s climate action goals and align with the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s (NOENMCC) environmental initiatives, all exhibitors are required to comply with the venue’s updated Pack In, Pack Out Policy

This policy mandates that exhibitors are responsible for the removal of all materials they bring into the facility. Items such as pallets, carpet, carpet padding, and cardboard carpet tubes must not be left in the exhibit hall or disposed of in open trash containers at the end of the event. Recycling options are available for materials like cardboard, visqueen, wood, and scrap. Non-compliance may result in fees assessed to the exhibitor or their appointed contractor.

In addition to these requirements, ASLA encourages exhibitors to donate eligible leftover materials to the New Orleans Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Donations must adhere to specific guidelines. By planning ahead and participating in these initiatives, exhibitors can minimize waste, reduce shipping costs, and contribute  to the local community.

Help Us Showcase Your Commitment to Sustainability!

ASLA is creating a new resource to spotlight landscape architecture product manufacturers that are leading the way in transparency and sustainability.

We’re building a dedicated webpage accessible to ASLA members, EXPO attendees, and fellow exhibitors. This page will feature Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), and other environmental product data from 2025 ASLA EXPO exhibitors and landscape architecture product manufacturers.

If your company has developed EPDs, conducted LCAs, or compiled relevant environmental data, we invite you to share it with us.
